My son keeps a journal at school. Here are some more notable entries from the past month.
Just in case you are wondering what a "front butt slam is," Rex is proud of the fact that he can do a front flip on the trampoline but he hasn't been able to land on his feet yet so he renamed the trick a "front butt slam." It has a nice ring to it.
There you go, a glimpse into the mind of my 7 year old.

Race Is One!
A little bittersweet when your last baby turns one. I know he has to grow up but could he slow it down a bit so his Mama has extra time to enjoy it?
It makes me sad to think my last won't be a baby much longer. NOT enough to want another one though. Let's be clear about that!
Anyway, this little guy is about to walk any day now. He's full of smiles and he's long and skinny. Kind of surprising because his older bro was a big fat fatty!
He says all sorts of little words like mama, dada, Ella, ba-ba, dog, no no, hi, and of course, poop.
He is such an active little fella. I took over a hundred shots of him and he moved around so much only a handful turned out.
We had a little family party for him where he got to eat his first piece of cake. I realize this cake is not at all pretty. Cake deco skills I do not have. But I used my sisters special recipe and it was DELICIOUS!!! Don't judge a cake by it's decorations.
Here's how bad I am at cake decorating. I ran out of room so the cake says "Happy Birth Race." Nice.
Going in for the kill:
He picked it up and licked it first! What a goose!
I swear, he does this weird OCD thing with all the food he gets. He looks at it real close, gets a little taste, has to drop it, then picks it up again and begins to eat it. Strange.
Here he is dropping it:
Okay, now he means business:
Yes! More please!
I love you my little happy face baby!

Color Run 2012
I got to do the Arizona Color Run in January with my sis Magi and our friend Adriana. It was one of the most super fun races I've ever done. It was only a 5k but it was a blast every second. The best was the color throw at the end.
Us before our shirts get all colored up!
A sea of white shirts. Don't know if it's true or not but I heard an announcement where they said that a shortage of white shirts in Arizona had been reported the day before. Funny!
Let's do this!
Risky Business! Hilarious!!!
The coloring begins:
I do not recommend opening your mouth in the color cloud!
Thought this was adorable!
Post run:
A sea of color:
After the color throw:
I brought home some extra colors so the kids could have a color fight. I had them change into junky clothes but wouldn't tell them why. Then we took them to the park, gave them the color powder, and let them have at it!
The aftermath:
Here is some video footage I took of the day:
