I know you are super excited to hear about my 21 week OB appt. Well, I'm going to tell you anyway.
So if you have spoken with me or even been around me the past 3 months or so, you might have said to yourself, "Why is that chick huffing and puffing like she just sprinted a mile?" You weren't imagining things, I have been short of breath for the majority of my pregnancy and I haven't been able to put my finger on it. I could just be sitting and not moving a muscle and all of a sudden, my heart will be racing and it feels like I'm almost suffocating. Okay, I'm dramatizing just a little but you catch my drift, I can't breathe good.
Today, I asked my doc if this is normal and she looks at my chart and says I'm anemic. Oh, THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION! Anything else you've been holding back on telling me??? I don't know why she didn't just tell me that. She also mentioned headaches were a part of being anemic as well. And yes, I've been having those too! So bad that I have to lie down and hold perfectly still so I don't pass out from the throbbing pain. Again, dramatizing. But you know what I mean.
I guess I'm just a little peeved because I got my blood drawn like forever ago and I've been having these symptoms almost my whole pregnancy and apparently, they are easily cured . She told me to get some slow-release iron pills and I should be good to go.
I asked her if my dramatic weight gain could also be a symptom of my anemia. She said probably not. Dang it!

I have about 20ish iron pills leftover if you want to stop by and get them.
That's crazy. I wonder if I'm low on iron too. I'll be laying in bed doing NOTHING and feel like I can't get enough air. It's almost comical. I haven't had too many headaches though. Hopefully yours go away soon. That's no fun!
Gotta love the skipped information! At least now you know that you will feel better. (hopefully!)
I had to go on iron pills after I had Grant and just beware, you may never poo again and when you do, you'll feel as if you are in labor. So, make sure you are drinking tons of water and getting lots of fiber. And, good luck girl!
Oh thats awful! Don't you love it when they happen to forget to tell you things! I hope the iron pills help. The things we will go through to have kids! :)
Just so you know, the iron will also slow other things down too (refer to Keri's comment). Good luck!
It's almost like because you have had one or more kids they think you are an EXPERT for pregnancy...
oh and btw fiber one bars are an AWESOME source of fiber (9 grams each) and taste GREAT! they make me a little (ahem) gassy though...i don't know which is worse...
(i'm blushing now, FYI)
Oh wow! That is intresting. I have been having those same symptoms. I ment to ask my dr. about it today but forgot with all the excitement of the ultrasound.
